My name is Emily Yang. I am a senior mixed methods user experience researcher located in Rochester, NY.
My passion is to gather insights and guide product strategy that will improve people’s lives, whether it is saving time from laborious tasks, ensuring peace of mind for critical financial tasks, or delight from a whimsical interaction. I enjoy working with the complex and multi-user nature of B2B/workplace tools.
My Journey
I started out as a front-end web developer working closely with user experience professionals at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY. Not long after, I studied in the Netherlands for a masters degree in Human-Technology Interaction at the Eindhoven University of Technology. There I learned how to do qualitative and quantitative research, and learned foundational concepts in cognitive psychology and human factors.
In the last 7 years, I have been working in the financial sector focusing on workplace tools for Paychex and for Ameriprise.
